More than just a stage combat book!

How do I place an order?

RAPIERS for rent

Most hilts can be fitted with almost any blade.  - prices are for the first 30 days rental per sword when outfitted with the corresponding blade. The sword you receive may have a different grip or pommel than that shown in the photo.

("what kind of blade do I need?") blade choices

Do you need only the sword, or some way to attach it to the actor as well? Once you're done selecting the hilt and blade, take a look at our  leather goods  rental section which has sashes, belts, frogs and scabbards

212 - FLEUR De MORT - a lovely solid steel guard makes this a formidable dueling rapier. Another Swordcrafters creation. Not available with a costume blade.

epee or demi-epee – [$21.63]    schlaeger – [$29.33]    vorpal – [$37.19]

211 - DUTCH SHELL - larger than the above dish, but not yet a full cup hilt. Limited availability.

costume – [$24.00]    epee or demi-epee – [$25.93]    schlaeger – [$35.13]    vorpal – [$44.35]

213- SPANISH CUP - actually found throughout Europe by the 1600’s, especially popular among soldiers because of the superior hand protection. The full cup hilt is the definitive Three Musketeers look.

costume – [$21.19]    epee or demi-epee – [$22.96]    schlaeger – [$30.67]    vorpal – [$38.52]

217- SAVIOLO - the most ornate full cup hilt available.

costume – [$20.44]    epee or demi-epee – [$22.22]     schlaeger – [$29.93]    vorpal – [$37.78]

215- CAPODIMONTE - A double ring steel guard provides good protection and fast response. These and the other swept hilt varieties of rapier guards were designed to both protect the hand against cuts yet keep the sword as light as possible.

costume – [$19.56]    epee or demi-epee – [$21.33]    schlaeger – [$29.04]    vorpal – [$36.89]

232- STANDARD SWEPT HILT - isn’t this brutal? The complex guard is meant to trap your opponent’s blade for a disarm or an opposing hand attack.

costume – [$19.85]    epee or demi-epee – [$21.63]    schlaeger – [$29.33]    vorpal – [$37.19]    single-hand broadsword – [$33.63]    sabre/cutlass - [36.44]

230- GOSSAMER SWEPT HILT - designed for us by Swordcrafters of San Diego as an alternative to the standard swept hilt above. Light and fast, the ring at the guard base helps reduce entanglement problems that can be a problem with the above 232. Its graceful curves give it a look of elegance and strength.

costume – [$21.19]    epee or demi-epee – [$22.96]    schlaeger – [$30.67]    vorpal – [$38.52]    single-hand broadsword – [$34.96]    sabre/cutlass - [37.78]

235- EMPIRE SWEPT HILT - This is made for one of those "Ren-Faire" catalogs, and (typical for the genre) is beautiful to behold and cumbersome to fight with. That cross-guard is twelve inches across! [very limited availability]

costume – [$24.87]    epee – [$26.80]    schlaeger – [$36.00]    vorpal – [$45.22]

237- SCARAMOUCH - This transitional rapier has a full steel guard and knuckle bow, and is designed to cover a broad historical sweep, from birth of the full rapier circa 1620 to the end of the civilian dueling sword circa 1850.

costume – [$15.70]    epee – [$17.48]    schlaeger – [$25.19]    vorpal – [$33.04]

224 - LA MANCHA - This guard has some of the flavor of the Spanish broadswords, but less ornate, and we can put any fight-worthy blade on it, especially light dueling blades. [limited availability]

costume – [$19.65]    epee or demi-epee - [$21.59]    schlaeger – [$30.78]    vorpal – [$40.00]

210- LIGHT CAGE HILT - another Swordcrafters of San Diego design, combining the best of the cage and dish guard styles, and carrying a flavor of the transitional rapier as well.

costume – [$22.43]    epee or demi-epee – [$24.37]    schlaeger – [$33.57]    vorpal – [$42.78]

302 – JUSSAC - typical main gauche (left hand) parrying dagger of the cavalier period, but offered here as a sword in it's own right.

costume – [$13.48]    epee or demi-epee – [$15.26]    schlaeger – [$22.96]    vorpal – [$30.81]
