The Textbook of Theatrical Combat
More than just a stage combat book!

How do I place an order?

Daggers

Our combat daggers have blades of unsurpassed durability and beauty, all steel guards and durable black cast grips.

The wide blade will even stand up to broadsword fights and is excellent for multiple-period needs.

The poniard blade is perfect for light quick work in epee bladed rapier and dagger fights.

poniard bladed - 6 choices !

The blades used on these daggers make a perfect match against the common epee, schlaeger, or foil-bladed rapiers found in most theatres. These are parrying and thrusting, not cutting, dagger blades. Hardwood handles and steel pommels.

Exposed poniard blade dimensions (after it leaves the hilt): L= 14"; W= 5/8"; 4 oz,

Average overall poniard dagger weight is about 8 oz

348 - NAVARRE: simple clean lines make this an excellent all-around parrying tool for rapier and dagger work. $69

341 - BAVARIAa: thin bladed daggers also had a war-time use in the middle ages. Whereas wide blades find armour troublesome, thin blades can fit into the chinks of armour and even open up the links in chain mail. $70

346 - SAXONY: sometimes misnamed the Swiss dagger, but became popular throughout Europe amongst the nobility. $89

302 – JUSSAC -  a typical main gauche (left hand) parrying dagger of the cavalier period (and also a great pirate cutlass - follow this link )

poniard blade - $ 94

super value poniards - 2 choices !

Bare bones basic stage combat daggers. The wood handles are left unfinished and un-tapered.

312 - CORONA COMPANION: made as a light weight parrying dagger for basic rapier and dagger work. $34 .  [ It is a companion to the the Corona sword. ]

343 - TEMPLAR COMPANION:  this dagger is named for the fierce warriors who defended the city of Jerusalem during the Crusades. As the Knights Templar were warrior-monks, we thought this cruciform style to be appropriate. $40 .  [ It is a companion to the the Knights Templar sword. ]

wide bladed - 4 choices !

The blades used on these daggers are nearly indestructible. Very lovely, but might be too strong against the fencing epee blade. Hardwood handles and steel pommels.

Exposed wide blade dimensions:   L= 12"; W= 1 1/4"; 8 oz

Average overall wide dagger weight is about 1 lb

342 - GOSSAMER COMPANION: the other daggers can cover a wide historical range, but this is a purely left hand parrying dagger of the late Renaissance to Cavalier period (see our #230 Gossamer Swept Hilt rapier). $85

345 - LOMBARD COMPANION: the basic dagger, found throughout Europe and spans 1000 years of Western Civilization. Tough and classic. $92

340 - RING DAGGER: the small side ring gives you just a bit more protection (and helps to keep the dagger from slipping through your belt). $99

costume daggers - - great savings !

These daggers are sturdy, but we don't consider them "fight-worthy". Fine for wave-around props.

308 - SALAMANCA DAGGER -  Makes a fine medieval companion dagger, (and actually is strong enough if fighting against an epee-bladed rapier). 12" blade, 18" overall-  only $39
